I am banking with Standard Bank and tried to withdraw cash from Standard Bank ATM. I received a message on ATM Transaction cancelled and on the slip printed code 0457 appear. When i called the call center the lady explained that my account is still active, do have sufficient funds and no block appear to be on my card or account. According to the lady the problem could then be with the chip in my bank card and I have to visit my branch. I went to FNB ATM where I could withdraw cash without any hassles? How can FNB's ATM give me cash and this is not even the bank where my account is? Why should I pay extra bank charges because Standard bank's ATM could not read the chip in my card but FNB ATM could how ever read the chip?
