Do not buy an Amerigard Aftermarket Warranty. After spending $1800 on an aftermarket warranty, you would expect somewhat professional treatment. Not if you buy it from Amerigard.
After my car broke down, I brought it to the dealership that I had bought it at. Since I had bought a Mitsubishi at an Acura Dealership, they sent it off to a Mitsubishi Dealership. After diagnosing the problem they came to the conclusion that a valve had cracked causing the valve to subsequently burn down. This was distinguishable from a standard burnt valve by the fact that the valve was burnt in a V shape that thinned to a hairline as it went in from the outside to the inside almost to the stem. About one fifth of the entire valve head was missing. Amerigard stated in its fine print on the back of the contract that it would not pay for the grinding of the head necessary after replacing a valve which had burned. My agent decided that this meant that they would not cover any costs of repair caused by a burnt valve.
After the adjuster declared the valve "burnt", I took it to several repair shops, machine shops, and lastly to an associate who used to work for the Ford/Lotus Racing Team designing and tuning turbocharged valvetrains. All of them had come to the same conclusion, that the valve had cracked or broken, and the burning was subsequent to the breakage. This was apparent by the extent and shape of the burning as well as the presence of several jagged edges among the otherwise smooth melted valve.
I sent Amerigard several letters and statements to this effect. Their response over the phone to me was that for every letter and opinion I sent them, they could get three to say that the valve just burned awayLM/W3SVC/74/Root
